Wyoming tire shop sees demand spike before winter storm

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — As people travel this holiday weekend, snow is starting to pile up in West Michigan. Many people used the calm before the storm as an opportunity to make last minute preparations for the winter.

“This (winter) came up on me kind of fast,” said Grand Rapids resident Gerol Bailey. “I just got my coat out. I just found my gloves. I had to kind of hustle because I was still hoping that we would have warmer weather. But this is Michigan.”

She has her snow scraper ready, got her car winterized and filled it with emergency supplies like jumper cables and a blanket.

“I had the tires and everything checked and all of the fluids and everything and I’ve even got my emergency stuff in the back in case I stall out,” she said…
