GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A Grand Rapids woman has been ordered to stand trial for the murder of her 12-year-old daughter, who died after a house fire that authorities say the mother set.
Roconda Singleton appeared Monday in Grand Rapids District Court to hear evidence against her. After hearing testimony, a judge determined there was enough evidence to move the case to Kent County Circuit Court.

Singleton is facing five charges, including arson and felony murder, for the Jan. 25 blaze at her home on Eastern Avenue SE between Hall and Martin Luther King Jr. streets.. Her 12-year-old daughter Shamiya Stewart died. Two other younger children escaped.
