West Michigan Dems criticize clawback of $645M in state funding

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Democratic lawmakers gathered in Grand Rapids Friday to voice concern over the impact of Michigan House Appropriations Committee’s vote to eliminate nearly $645 million in state projects and organization funding.

State Rep. Carol Glanville, D-Walker, is a part of that committee. She said the vote is a “cruel and unprecedented measure.”

“In just minutes, multiyear commitments that our communities had already planned for had the rug pulled out from under them,” Glanville said. “These were not theoretical dollars… These dollars are already in motion.”…
