GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — On Sunday, visitors to Riverside Park can attend an annual 5K costume race — called the Whoville 5K — to benefit the Down Syndrome Association of West Michigan.
“It’s just a fun event to be involved in,” Kylie Zimmerman, administrative and marketing coordinator at the Down Syndrome Association of West Michigan, said. “It’s something that families look forward to each year.”

Organized by Gazelle Sports, the Whoville 5K is an annual 5K fun run inviting participants to dress as their favorite Dr. Seuss holiday characters as they race around Riverside Park.
“It’s a very fun, festive energy,” Zimmerman said.
All proceeds raised from the event go to the Down Syndrome Association of West Michigan and its community programs for kids, teens and adults…
