Man acquitted in 2024 Grand Rapids murder

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A man charged with murder in a deadly 2024 shooting has been found not guilty.

Court documents show a jury returned a not guilty verdict Wednesday for Ronald Armour.

He was accused of pulling the trigger in a shooting in the early morning hours of June 29, 2024. Police told News 8 that they were called to a scene near Ardmore Street and Thelma Avenue on the southeast side of Grand Rapids around 12:20 a.m.

They said they didn’t find any victims there, but a man showed up at a local hospital minutes later with a gunshot wound. That man’s injuries were not life-threatening, but a second victim, later identified as 35-year-old Jeremy Parnell, arrived at the hospital around 3 a.m. and died from a gunshot wound to the chest…
