New West Michigan mountain biking trail expanding to 8 miles, needs $100,000

KENT COUNTY, MI – A brand new mountain bike trail is under construction near downtown Grand Rapids and it may be longer than planned.

Originally planned for six miles in Johnson Park in Walker, the trail builders scouted out additional loops to expand the trail to eight. Now the West Michigan Mountain Bike Alliance is fundraising to make the extra two miles a reality. They are seeking to raise $100,000 to make it happen.

“We’re confident that this will be the best trail in West Michigan for lots of reasons,” Dan Frayer, president of the WMMBA, said. “Johnson is on a whole nother level.”…
