The YWCA West Central Michigan has listed its downtown Grand Rapids building for $5.25 million, the first time the building has been on the market in its 103-year-old history as the nonprofit seeks a smaller space.
The organization listed the 48,211-square-foot building at 25 Sheldon Ave. SE on Dec. 8. The YWCA West Central Michigan is under contract to buy a new space in the city of Grand Rapids that is “about half the size” of its current property, said Roger Ackerman, a Realtor at Keller Williams GR North who is co-listing the property with Tanya Powell-May from Legacy Homes with Keller Williams Grand Rapids North.
“They are trying to move because they don’t need all this space, and there is a cost to maintain an older building, and they used to have (more) tenants in there to help with that cost to maintain this building,” Ackerman said…
