Fire destroys nearly a dozen cars at Kentwood retirement community Friday

KENTWOOD, Mich. (WOOD) — 11 women who live at a Kentwood retirement community are now without vehicles after a car fire quickly spread and destroyed every car parked nearby, including the carport covering them.

According to the Kentwood Fire Department, the fire happened Friday afternoon at the Bailey Grove Retirement Community.

Many of the women say while they’re grateful no one was injured, the loss has left them devastated and unsure of what comes next…
