Make-A-Wish brings back its holiday hotline

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Make-A-Wish has brought back its holiday wish hotline bringing uplifting messages from Wish Kids to callers across the country.

Callers to the Holiday Wish Line this December will hear hopeful recorded messages from one of six Wish Kids who have been helped by the organization. The hotline is meant to bring holiday cheer and raise awareness for the Wishful Giving campaign.

“Our wish kids have battled critical illnesses with courage and grace,” said Leslie Motter, president and CEO of Make-A-Wish America. “Their messages reflect a depth of humor and hope that only they can share. For those feeling overwhelmed or in need of a smile, their voices are a powerful reminder that joy can be found even in the hardest times.”

Proceeds from the Wishful Giving campaign will go toward supporting kids like Ruby, 5, who is a liver transplant recipient. Make-A-Wish gave her the opportunity to fulfill her wish of publishing a children’s book. Now, she’s helping other sick kids by participating in the holiday hotline…
