Teen shot in Grand Rapids, police say

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A 14-year-old was shot in Grand Rapids Saturday night, according to police.

Just before 5 p.m., someone called 911 reporting a person who had been shot running down the street on Division Avenue near Wealthy Street, according to the Grand Rapids Police Department. Responding officers found the teen and brought him to the hospital. He had been shot in the arm but the wound was not life-threatening, police said.

It’s not clear what led up to the shooting. There is no suspect in custody, police say, and did not provide any suspect information.

Multiple streets were blocked off near the intersection of Division Avenue and Logan Street, where a News 8 crew saw at least six Grand Rapids Police Department cruisers and a forensics car. Investigators seemed to be focused on a home on Sheldon Avenue near Buckley Street…
