Kirk Wissink, affectionately known by his family as “Mr. Christmas,” has always embraced the holidays with unmatched enthusiasm. Marcie Wissink, Kirk’s mother, dressed her son in an elf costume to enhance the joy of meeting Santa. She anticipated smiles, photos, and the simple delight of the moment. Instead, a security guard approached the pair shortly after they joined the line, explaining that the outfit created unfair “competition” for the mall’s Santa. The guard requested they either remove the costume or leave the premises, citing concerns that it detracted from the official holiday attraction.
