GRFD investigating commercial fire in southeast Grand Rapids

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A car repair garage on the southeast side of Grand Rapids was damaged in a fire Monday morning.

The building on the 1600 block of Madison Avenue SE between Crofton Street and Dickinson Street caught fire around 11:30 a.m. Monday, the Grand Rapids Fire Department confirmed. Firefighters arrived on scene withing three minutes and were able to quickly contain the fire.
