GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — World of Winter, which bills itself as the largest free winter festival in the country, gets underway in just one week.
The monthslong outdoor festival fills downtown Grand Rapids with art installations. Its goal is to create vibrancy during the cold and typically slower months downtown.
The festival’s centerpiece is Ah-Nab-Awen Park, where you can find displays like the Singing Tree, an interactive piece that responds to singing, clapping and yelling. Other festival hot spots include the Blue Bridge and Sixth Street Park.
