GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — The legend lives on from the Chippewa on down but something got lost in translation for the writers of “Jeopardy!”
Lots of fans, particularly from Michigan, voiced their displeasure recently when a clue about the Edmund Fitzgerald featured a mistake.
Edmund Fitzgerald: 50 Years Later
The $1,600 clue under the category “That Place Sounds Fishy” included a line from Gordon Lightfoot’s “The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald.” It read, “The searchers all say they’d have made Whitefish Bay if they’d put 15 more miles behind her.”
However, the clue said Whitefish Bay was in Wisconsin and not in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula…
