Trinidad Chambliss’ rapid rise from a backup Division II transfer to an Ole Miss starter has been nothing short of extraordinary. But his parents, Trent and Cheryl Chambliss, have worked to keep his meteoric ascent in perspective.
“If you’re not having fun, then what’s the whole point?” Trent told the Daily Journal in October 2025. “But you can’t win every game. So therefore, how do you end up learning? How do you grow? … What do we do the next day? And what do we learn? What are they teaching us?”
The couple raised their two sons, Trinidad and his older brother, Tyler, in Grand Rapids, Mich. Trent is a high school administrator, while Cheryl, now retired, spent her career as a juvenile probation officer, per Yahoo! Sports.
