Kent County Board of Commissioners selects leadership team for 2026

KENT COUNTY, MI – Commissioner Ben Greene was reelected as chair of the Kent County Board of Commissioners at the board’s Jan. 8 organizational meeting.

Commissioners unanimously selected Greene as chair and Commissioner Lindsay Thiel as vice-chair on Thursday. At the first meeting of each new year, the commissioners choose who will sit in the leadership roles.

Greene, who represents District 1, was first elected to the board in 2020 and is now beginning his second year as chair. Thiel, of District 11, takes the seat previously held by Commissioner Dan Burrill, District 8, who opted not to serve as vice-chair again this year…
