Expert questions investigators’ findings in deadly 2002 fire

OTTAWA COUNTY, MI – An expert witness said investigators relied on outdated fire science when they convicted Karen Boes of first-degree murder in a 2002 house fire that killed her 14-year-old daughter

Boes, 69, was in court Thursday, Feb. 5, seeking a new trial based on newly discovered evidence related to the arson investigation and her claim that she falsely confessed to police.
