OAISD expands skilled worker training to meet employer demand

The Ottawa Area Intermediate School District is expanding career and technical education programming to meet increased demand for skilled workers.

The district has reconfigured facilities, opened new instructional spaces and strengthened partnerships with local districts and businesses, according to a community announcement. Last year, area high school students earned nearly 3,000 industry-recognized credentials and 3,000 college credits.

The district’s recently launched Careerline Tech Center East Building allowed the introduction of a new fire and rescue program, according to the announcement.
