West Michigan breweries collaborate on experimental Belgian IPA

HOLLAND, MI — Leigh’s Brewing Co. of Holland and Oakestown Brewery of Grandville are partnering on a unique new beer that will be available at both taprooms.

Monk Around and Find Out Belgian IPA is a hybrid beer brewed with Belgian Abbey yeast and experimental hops. It is the brainchild of Leigh’s head brewer Chan Senesaynho and Oakestown head brewer Mark Rowe.

Because the beer is still fermenting, the flavor profile is yet-to-be-determined, but it should blend the spicy/fruity yeast character of Belgian ales with the hop-forward intensity of a traditional American IPA, according to a statement from Oakestown Brewery…
