GRAND RAPIDS, MI — With Acrisure Amphitheater and Amway Stadium expected to put a squeeze on downtown parking, the public authority that oversees the venues is exploring the construction of a parking lot on the city’s southwest side for service industry workers.
Rich MacKeigan, executive director of the Grand Rapids-Kent County Convention/Arena Authority, said he and his colleagues are in the early stages of evaluating whether the parking lot could be built on a portion of the former Butterworth Landfill.
