A local man charged with unlawful imprisonment, assault with intent to do great bodily harm, and domestic violence was sentenced to 426 days in jail and three years’ probation Feb. 16 in Ottawa County’s 20th Circuit Court.
Angel Vazquez, 31, has already served 426 days, according to Judge Karen Miedema. He pled guilty to one count of assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder in January, the day before his trial was slated to begin. In exchange, a second count of assault with intent to do great bodily harm, one count of unlawful imprisonment and one count of domestic violence were dropped.
