Man sent to prison after dragging girlfriend from SUV, pointing gun at good Samaritan

KALAMAZOO, MI – A Grand Rapids man was sentenced to 15 years in federal prison after he dragged his girlfriend from a moving vehicle and pointed a gun at a woman who tried to help her.

Maurice Ray Jr., 32, led police on a pursuit through Lansing before he was finally cornered and arrested.

Ray was sentenced Tuesday, Feb. 17, by U.S. District Judge Paul Maloney in Kalamazoo to the maximum penalty for being a felon in possession of a firearm. He was found guilty at a jury trial…
