The National Weather Service released an updated wind advisory at 3:25 a.m. EST on Friday valid between 7 a.m. EST and 9 p.m. EST for Ottawa, Kent, Ionia, Clinton, Allegan, Barry, Eaton, Ingham, Van Buren, Kalamazoo, Calhoun and Jackson counties.
“Southwest winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts around 45 mph expected,” says the weather service. “Winds will increase during the morning and the strongest gusts are likely during the afternoon.”
“Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result,” comments the weather service. “Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution.”
