KCSO: Fire truck hit during multi‑vehicle crash response on US‑131

KENT COUNTY, Mich. — The Kent County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) said a multi-vehicle crash response turned dangerous on Saturday night after a driver slammed into the back of a fire truck.

The crash happened while officials responded to an earlier crash scene on US‑131 near 76th Street SE.

The Byron Township Fire Department said the fire truck had been positioned in the lane to protect first responders and the people involved in the initial crash, as well as alert drivers that there was an emergency scene ahead…
