Downtown Grand Rapids dam removal begins this summer

Update: The Grand Rapids City Commission approved the river restoration contract on Tuesday evening.

GRAND RAPIDS, MI – Construction will begin this summer on a two-year project to remove four dams from the Grand River to create recreational opportunities for kayaking, tubing, angling, wading and more in downtown Grand Rapids.
