GRAND RAPIDS, MI – Grand Rapids residents will soon be able to drop off their food scraps at collection bins across the city to divert food waste from the landfill and create useable compost for local gardens.
The city is piloting a food scrap collection program this year thanks to a $10,000 grant awarded by NextCycle Michigan through the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy.
