Deputies: Downed power lines leaves street closed in Jenison

GEORGETOWN TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Part of a road was closed in Jenison Saturday night after a truck hit a power pole and knocked down multiple lines, deputies say.

According to the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office, at around 9:50 p.m., a 32-year-old driving a pickup truck was headed westbound on Baldwin Street near 12th Avenue, when they lost control on the roads due to ice and hit a power pole near the intersection.

Multiple power lines fell into the roadway after the crash. Baldwin from 12th to Boulder Bluff Drive was subsequently closed and responders were waiting for Consumers Energy as of Saturday night…
