“More than 70,000 children and teens have been killed by gun violence in the United States over the past 20 years,” said City High sophomore Mathil Joshi, founding member of the local chapter of Students Demand Action (SDA), during his opening comments at a Feb. 23 town hall.
The event focused on gun violence, with four state representatives present to answer questions about the future of gun control in Grand Rapids, including Reps. Phil Skaggs (D-East Grand Rapids), Stephen Wooden (D-Grand Rapids), John Fitzgerald (D-Wyoming) and Carol Glanville (D-Grand Rapids).
