GRPL unveils 5-year plan to become community hub

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The Grand Rapids Public Library (GRPL) announced their plan this week to become a community hub within the next five years.

This strategic plan was implemented to better serve the eight communities GRPL has branches in, and connect residents with local resources.

While the organization will still primarily function as a library, GRPL will be “diversifying” its offerings. Instead of mostly referring visitors to the library’s resources—like its collections, literacy programs and the Grand Rapids History Center—the library will be partnering with community organizations to expand its network…
