ALLENDALE TOWNSHIP, MI – A West Michigan township is considering adding new allowances for short-term rentals and accessory dwelling units to its zoning code, as many communities are looking for ways to add different kinds of housing.
Under the proposed zoning amendments, Allendale Township would allow no more than 50 short-term rental units at a time, and accessory dwelling units (ADUs) could only be occupied by immediate or extended family of the principal residents.
