Community members who are concerned with the direction in which the country is heading and want to exercise their First Amendment rights through peaceful protesting will have the opportunity to do so March 28.
Local members of Indivisible, a group that describes itself as a “nationwide movement of everyday people organizing…to stop the rise of authoritarianism,” have planned a No Kings rally in Lowell. This rally will be in two parts – one in Lowell and another following in downtown Grand Rapids.
Organizer Nicole Anderson said rally-goers will meet at the Lowell pickleball courts in the North Grand River Riverfront Park at 10 am to decorate vehicles and possibly hear a short speech. They will divide into groups and march to Fulton Street to peacefully protest. At about 12:30 pm, the group will carpool to a yet-to-be-determined location in downtown Grand Rapids to join a protest to be held there…
