Grand Rapids man charged with murder of fiancé, two kids found competent to stand trial

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — A Grand Rapids man accused of killing his fiancé and her two kids has been found competent to stand trial.

44-year-old Charles Broomfield is accused of shooting and killing Jacqueline Neill and her two sons: Michael Kilpatrick, 13, and Cameron Kilpatrick, 15 on January 26, 2026.
