Jury to decide if man was conspirator in revenge killing or ‘collateral damage’

GRAND RAPIDS, MI – Prosecutors and defense attorneys were at odds over a man’s alleged role in what was described as a calculated, cold-blooded killing.

Tyriq Bettison lit up a cigarette and was as casual as a Sunday stroll as he walked away from the scene where he lured Darryl Yarber to be executed, Kent County prosecutors argued.

The defense rebutted those claims, arguing Bettison would have been collateral damage had he not fled as the plan to kill Yarber unfolded…
