Ottawa County man who killed his girlfriend on New Year’s Day and fled to Las Vegas is sentenced

OTTAWA COUNTY, Mich. — An Ottawa County man will spend decades behind bars after he was found guilty of murdering his girlfriend earlier this year.

Randall Grinwis, a 59-year-old man from Hudsonville, was accused of killing his 63-year-old girlfriend, Donna Hyma on Jan. 1, 2024. A jury found Grinwis guilty of second-degree murder in February and he was sentenced to between 32 years and 6 months in prison to 90 years in prison. He was credited 805 days for time served.
