NASA to launch Michigan astronaut tonight on historic space mission to the moon

GRAND RAPIDS, MI – NASA astronaut Christina Hammock Koch, a Grand Rapids native, is launching to the moon today.

Koch will be part of the Artemis II crew, set to launch for the moon at 6:24 p.m. today. The four-person crew will become the first astronauts to leave Low Earth Orbit since the Apollo program ended 54 years ago.
