Ottawa County braces for potential flooding amid excessive rainfall

OTTAWA COUNTY, Mich. — Due to excessive rainfall this month and more in the forecast, Ottawa County officials are preparing for flooding throughout the week.

Since March 1, West Michigan has seen above-average precipitation, making it the wettest start to spring on record. Rain chances will continue this week. Thursday and Friday stand the best chance of seeing any additional precipitation.

Flooding is particularly expected in Robinson Township in low areas near the Grand River. The Grand River is expected to reach minor flood stage by Monday afternoon and moderate flood stage by noon on Tuesday…
