Free CPR training class held at GVSU aims to help save lives

ALLENDALE, Mich. (WOOD) — When someone’s heart stops beating, every second that nothing is done, their chance of survival goes down. That’s why knowing what to do can be a matter of life and death.

Equipping people with the skills and the confidence to step in and save a life is the goal of the new partnership between Corewell Health and Champions of the Heart, which is holding free CPR training events throughout the state.

On Saturday, more than 150 people registered to learn how to give CPR and use an automated external defibrillator on Grand Valley State University’s campus.
