WALKER, Mich. (WOOD) — Walker’s fire chief died unexpectedly after experiencing a medical emergency, a sudden loss the mayor called “profound.”
“He led with purpose and he prioritized people,” Mayor Gary Carey said. “He worked every day to strengthen the trust between our fire department and the community it serves.”
Russell “Rusty” Shoultz died early Friday, Carey said at an afternoon news conference.
