(WFRV)- Step into a world of horse-powered pageantry.
Bridgitt Zielke, Site Director at Wade House, discusses their upcoming event, Carriage Driving Days, explaining that this event is where you can see horses of every size, shape, and color hitched to beautiful carts and carriages as they compete for division championships, navigating intricate courses and challenges in hopes of clinching the coveted blue ribbon from certified judges. Bridgitt also shares that all competitors in this event will be dressed to reflect its history. Additionally, there will be delicious food available, as this year, they will welcome back the local branch of the American Legion, who will offer hot dogs, brats, burgers, and breakfast sandwiches hot off the grill, but will also feature Harvest Street Food Truck, who will serve up dishes made with local, seasonal ingredients.
Joe Yoder, a carriage driver clinician, discusses his role in the event: working with drivers to improve their skills and helping them perfect what they ask their horses to do. He shares his history in the sport, noting that he grew up in an Amish family and has driven horses his whole life. Ultimately, watching others compete is what drew him into the sport itself…
