WISCONSIN — A severe weather outbreak is expected to materialize this afternoon, evening, and into the early overnight hours across portions of Michigan, Wisconsin, Illinois, and Iowa. An enhanced corridor of tornado potential, including the chance for a strong tornado, is focused on northeast Iowa and the southern half of Wisconsin.
A broader tornado threat extends farther north and down into northern Illinois, though forecasters note the damaging wind threat will be greater across those outer areas compared to the enhanced corridor.

The highest-risk zone, categorized as numerous, stretches from northeast Iowa through Waterloo, Cedar Rapids, and Davenport before extending into southern Wisconsin near Madison and Green Bay. This corridor carries the greatest potential for a strong tornado along with very large hail.
Any semi-discrete supercells that develop within Iowa and Wisconsin pose a particularly strong tornado and very large hail risk, making this corridor the primary focus for forecasters throughout the afternoon and evening.
