DE PERE, Wis. (WFRV) – It didn’t take long, but a new business is filling the vacancy that was left behind by popular De Pere bar, “The Abbey.”
The Abbey, which served patrons for 52 years, officially closed its doors on June 22. Around that time, a developer associated with One Barrel Brewing Company was in talks with the City of De Pere on a proposal to redevelop the property into a multi-tenant space.

On August 8, the Door County extension of the Wisconsin brewing company announced via their Facebook a confirmation of those details.
One Barrel Brewing Co. Door County revealed their “not very well kept” secret, sharing that in addition to another taproom location, the property will also include an attached wine bar that will serve specialty craft beer and cocktails, as well as food.
