Sometimes a Buzz story starts with a question. At least, that was the case the other day, when I dug through property records and called developers to find answers.
A reader noticed that the former Chase Bank building was being torn down in Appleton, near the intersection of Northland and Ballard avenues. He emailed The Buzz to ask if something new was coming.
Turns out, there is! Caribou Coffee confirmed it plans to open a new drive-thru location at 2120 E. Northland Ave., sometime this summer. Meanwhile, the developer said it is still “exploring other retail opportunities” for the rest of the site.
Over in Fox Crossing, Americana Pipedream Apparel saw an opportunity to create warehouse and office space inside the former Harp Gallery Antiques & Furniture building. The online military surplus business is run by a couple friends, who grew up together in Appleton. They bought the property in June and moved in last month.
Finally, Faces Eyewear decided to leave its longtime home inside City Center Plaza in downtown Appleton. The business will temporarily close in late January and open the new Grand Chute store Feb. 1.
