Packers lose an experienced member of their coaching staff

The Green Bay Packers are losing a member of their coaching staff. Senior analyst Tim Lester, a former Western Michigan head coach, is leaving the Packers to take over as the Iowa offensive coordinator. The news was initially reported by 247 Sports .

Lester is the first coach this season who opted to leave the Packers, and the third coaching staff change. Prior, defensive coordinator Joe Barry and strength and conditioning coordinator Chris Gizzi had been fired by head coach Matt LaFleur.

Tim Lester has a long track record as a college offensive coach. He was fired by Western Michigan in 2022 after six seasons with the team and came aboard with the Packers as a senior analyst to work with the defense, giving the defensive staff an offensive perspective.

Donovan also spent a season with the Packers after two years as an offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at the University of Washington. Now, he’s a senior offensive analyst at Florida.
