The Green Bay Packers have filled an important position on their defensive coaching staff. According to Tom Silverstein from the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, head coach Matt LaFleur has hired Anthony Campanile as the team’s new linebackers coach and run game coordinator.
Campanile replaces Kirk Olivadotti, who had been with the Packers since 2019 and was allowed to take a position with the Seattle Seahawks. The new hire will also absorb the run game coordinator job from former Packers DL coach Jerry Montgomery.

Hiring process
Anthony Campanile had been the Miami Dolphins linebackers coach since 2020. This cycle, he interviewed with the New York Giants for their defensive coordinator position — they ended up hiring former Tennessee Titans DC Shane Bowen for the job.
The Philadelphia Eagles also wanted Campanile as their linebackers coach — Vic Fangio moved from the Dolphins to the Eagles this offseason and recommended the hiring. However, Campanile chose to go to Green Bay instead.
