Green Bay man sentenced to nearly a decade in prison for arson

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) – The Green Bay man charged with the destructive arson to storage units in March 2021 was sentenced to nine years in prison Thursday. Thomas Smith, 58, was previously charged with arson to a property other than a building, arson of a building without the owner’s consent, burglary charges, theft of movable property, possession of burglary tools, and obstructing police. He faced similar charges in another case. He was sentenced in two cases Thursday and the sentences are to run concurrent to each other with a credit of 1,003 days imprisonment.
