Brett Favre Claimed He Suffered ‘Thousands of Concussions’ in His Career

Brett Favre revealed on Tuesday that he has been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, but a newly released interview reinforces that he has been concerned about traumatic brain injuries stretching back for many years.

Favre appeared before the U.S. House Ways and Means Committee during a hearing on welfare reform. The former NFL quarterback spoke about his investment in a company that makes a concussion drug, revealing that he lost his investment. Favre also told members of the committee that he had been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease.

The Daily Mail today reported on a 2018 interview in which the former Green Bay Packers quarterback suggested that he had suffered “thousands” of concussions during his career.

“I look at it like I probably had thousands of concussions,” Favre told the news outlet. “If a concussion is ringing in the ear, seeing stars, a little dizziness, foggy, fuzzy feeling or whatever, I couldn’t begin to count how many of those I’ve had. Tons.”
