Green Bay Packers Close to Benching Quarterback: Report

Despite leading the Green Bay Packers to back-to-back wins, there is no quarterback controversy surrounding Malik Willis.

ESPN’s Dan Graziano reported on NFL teams that will likely make quarterback changes soon. He thinks Willis is the first candidate to get benched.

“I mean, technically it’s the Packers’ Malik Willis, since Jordan Love sounds like he’s close to coming back,” Graziano wrote.

The Packers have been pleasantly surprised with how Malik Willis has played after Jordan Love suffered an MCL sprain in Week 1.

The Packers traded for Willis on Aug. 26 after a preseason that was filled with miscues from their backup quarterbacks.

The Liberty standout made his first start for the Packers on Sept. 15. He has led the Packers to wins over the Indianapolis Colts and his former team, the Tennessee Titans.
