Packers Tabbed a Trade ‘Fit’ for Davante Adams Reunion

The NFL was rocked on Tuesday, a little more than a month before the league’s trade deadline, when i t was reported that the Raiders and star wide receiver Davante Adams both were amenable to a parting of the ways. While teams like the Jets, Cowboys, Steelers and Chiefs have been the focus of speculation in a potential Adams trade, surely folks in Green Bay are wistfully considering a return of their prodigal receiver.

Adams spent the first eight seasons of his career with the Packers, earning five Pro Bowl selections and topping 1,300 yards three times . He led the NFL in touchdowns (18) and yards per game (98.1) in 2020. But the Packers traded Adams to the Raiders in 2022.

Las Vegas has made just one playoff appearance since acquiring Adams, and now, approaching age 32, he is eager to get a chance to go to the Super Bowl for the first time in his career.

In an article titled, “Davante Adams trade: NFL team fits for Raiders star receiver,” ESPN insider Bill Barnwell speculates that the Packers could be one of the teams that could get involved in an Adams sweepstakes, given their wealth of assets, their status as a potential Super Bowl contender and the fact that top receiver Christian Watson has had trouble staying healthy.
