Retired military dog reunites in Green Bay with former handler after two years

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) — A 10-year-old retired military dog has been reunited with his former handler and best friend after two years apart.

Dasty, a military working dog, and U.S. Army Sgt. Mike Fletcher were inseparable for four years, including a 10-month deployment in Afghanistan where they shared a small tent in an active combat zone.

Now, following Dasty’s retirement after eight years of service, Fletcher has officially adopted him, giving the loyal dog a well-deserved, relaxing retirement.
