(WFRV) – Oconto Fire & Rescue sent out a post on Friday morning reminding ATV/UTV users to practice caution by wearing a helmet whenever riding.
“ATV/UTV helmets only work if you wear them,” the post said.
What’s the Coolest Thing Made In Wisconsin? Winner of annual contest announced
The post provided a variety of tips on helmets while riding:
- Wear it – Always wear a helmet, and make sure passengers have one as well
- Fit is key – Make sure the helmet fits snug, but not too uncomfortable
- Full-face helmets are recommended for full coverage of chin and face
- Eyewear – Built in visor/goggles are the optimal choice
Any crash or drop of a helmet should be followed up with a replacement, even if damage isn’t visible. There could be cracks or damage that are difficult to locate.
